Jiuqu Flowing

"Qu Shui Liu Shang" is also known as "Jiuqu Liu Shang". The Preface to the Collection of Orchid Pavilion records that on the third day of March in Yonghe, the 9th year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Wang Xizhi held a game of "Qu Shui Liu Shang" in the Lanting of Kuaiji (now Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province), accompanied by activities of reciting poems. The Jiuqu Liushang presents a kind of bluestone path like winding water, continuous, people feast and play on it, expressing a tranquil artistic conception, which is poetic and dynamic delicacy.
