Travel Tips for the Qingming Festival Holiday
With the Qingming Festival holiday of 2025 just around the corner, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism reminds all tourists:
I. Plan your trip wisely. Spring weather is highly variable, with significant temperature differences between morning and evening. Before setting out on a trip, check the weather forecasts for both your route and your destination, choose an appropriate mode of transportation, adjust your clothing accordingly, and pack essential items and common medications. Plan your itinerary and travel schedule carefully, select a travel agency with proper operating licenses, and avoid visiting undeveloped or unopen areas that lack adequate safety measures. Stay informed about the security situation and relevant advisories at your outbound travel destinations, and refrain from traveling to high-risk regions.
II. Preventing Fire Risks When visiting scenic areas, public cultural venues, and cultural heritage sites, strictly comply with fire safety regulations and, in the event of an emergency, follow the guidance and instructions of on-site staff. When staying at a hotel, refrain from smoking while lying on the sofa or bed, familiarize yourself with the emergency evacuation routes, and acquire essential knowledge on emergency preparedness and risk avoidance. During outdoor activities, prioritize fire prevention and disaster avoidance by rigorously adhering to fire safety regulations and other relevant rules, as well as forest fire prevention requirements.
III. Pay attention to travel safety. Before embarking on a self-drive tour, thoroughly inspect your vehicle to ensure safe and courteous driving, and strictly avoid driving while fatigued or under the influence of alcohol. When traveling by motor vehicle or public transportation, always wear your seat belt throughout the entire journey. When boarding sightseeing cruise ships, be sure to wear a life jacket as required, and never board a vessel that is not equipped with the necessary lifesaving gear. When participating in high-risk activities such as high-altitude adventures, high-speed rides, water-based excursions, scuba diving, or adventure expeditions, assess your own physical condition and only take on challenges you are capable of handling; adhere to all safety operating procedures, conduct activities under the guidance of qualified professionals, and refrain from any behavior that could jeopardize your safety or the safety of others.
IV. Travel in a Civilized and Rational Manner. Comply with laws, regulations, and generally accepted social norms and public order. Cherish the ecological environment, protect cultural relics and historical sites, take good care of public facilities, uphold public order, avoid crowding and争抢, follow the visitor guidelines provided at each site, and heed the instructions and guidance of on-site staff. Pay attention to service standards and quality, make informed choices when selecting tourism products, and be vigilant against “unreasonably low-priced tours.” Maintain good hygiene habits, actively participate in the “Clean Plate Campaign,” promote low-carbon and resource-conserving practices, and embrace eco-friendly travel.
